Spillage and Residue

I got my Mooncup UK about half a year ago, and most of the time I am very happy with it. However, I've got a couple of problems, which is very annoying.

The first problem is during the first 24 hours, when my flow is the heaviest. I can't seem to stop it leaking. The problem is particularly big during the night. I don't understand how this could be, beause it is fine the rest of the week, when it's hardly leaked once. I know the thing seals itself, because even though it spills, I do have to break the seal when I take it out. Oh, and it always leaks out in the front.

My second problem is taking it out. If there's more than 6ml in the cup, I spill and my fingers get soaked in blood. It's very annoying, because it's not fun getting blood on your hands. The other reason is that combined with the constant leaking in the begining of my period, there's some blood that goes unmeasured, so I still don't know just how much I beed (though I think it's average). To take it out, I basically go in at the front, break the seal by pressing it backwards at the rim (and lo! it spills), grab the bottom, and just pull it out. I don't seem to be able to break the seal when I just squeeze the bottom - it just won't break.

Can somebody give me any advice? Maybe I need another size for the first day? Or perhaps another brand.

BTW, the cup stays low (and I've never been able to insert tampons correctly...).
