Stinging?

Hi, I got my DivaCup a while ago and I haven't been able to get it in. My main problem is this painful tenderness on my urethra/bone as the fold of the cup pushes against it, and it stings for a while afterwards. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong and how I can get around it? Anyone else who is petite, a virgin, and dislikes tampons?

So far, I've done the sitting-on-toilet, leg-on-toilet, and the bent-knees-in-shower, with the C-fold and punchdown (the other folds seemed like they would exacerbate the problem in that area) with some lube though possibly not enough. This community has been really informative and encouraging, so fear not, I shall persist! I will muster the courage, willpower, and inspiration derived from the hypothetically utopian concept of menstrual cups to achieve this glorious but presently unattainable remedy to the crude and environmentally wasteful method of paaaaads. Even if it takes me the rest of my life. At least till menopause or a hysterectomy or a sex change. = ]

*edit*

To be more specific, do you have any tips for inserting the cup without hurting your urethra?

Also, I was wondering how long it takes for you to put in your cup -- for both beginning and experienced users? Do you generally go in slow and easy?

Thanks for all your input.
