A supportive doctor

I went to a new GP last week, and since I hadn't been there before she took a general medical history. She asked me how heavy my periods are, at which point I pulled my cup out of my bag and said, "Well, this holds X-amount and on the first day I usually fill it up in X-amount of time." She blinked and said, "What is that?" (Cups are not available in Australia and not very well known.) I explained it to her and without a pause she said, "What a fantastic idea! Why the heck aren't they available here??" After hearing several negative reactions from doctors who weren't familiar with them I was very pleased to get such an instant positive reaction!
