comfortable footwear encourages moral decadence

Prospective user, a little nervous

I really want to try a menstrual cup, probably a DivaCup. However, I'm in the middle of my period right now, and my next one is going to be during the first week of classes in college. Fabulous.

I checked the tags and memories, but I still have quite a few questions. I hope it's not a problem.

I'm a virgin, and I know that virgins can use menstrual cups and everything, but I have a hard time using even larger tampons, so I'm afraid of dying a thousand painful deaths trying to do this. This year I'm living in a townhouse with 11 other people (it's a feminist theme house, even better) and not a dorm with a bunch of strangers, so in a way I'm lucky, but I don't want to be hogging up the bathroom trying to figure this out. (There are two bathrooms, though.) I'm also quite nervous that I'll think I have it right, only to be walking to class in a lot of pain or something. Ideally I'd like to do a dry run before I get to school, but of course it won't be the same as the real deal. Is it still really difficult and painful to figure it out the first time after doing a dry run? How terrible is the process overall?

And, the million-dollar dumb question of the year: does using a menstrual cup stretch your vagina out at all?

(I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tag this...)
