Yesterday, I bled about an ounce in a 12 hour period. That itself is wild. I love saying that, instead of "man, I must have changed my pad 12 times today!!" =) I love being able to measure my flow. I love seeing what it really looks like.
I thought yesterday was going pretty smoothly, at least until I sneezed. I guess I didn't have that great of a seal after all, because as soon as I did, I felt a rush of fluid. I tried positioning it a little lower, and the stem became unbearable, so I hacked it off. I tried again, and a couple of hours later I noticed some spotting. I really don't know if it was residual or if it really leaked. I felt around the cup and it was open and still surrounding the cervix. I rinsed it off and put it back in before I went to bed, and when I woke up this morning, there was a little blood in my underwear. Hm.
This morning I changed MY position. Instead of sitting on the toilet, I just went into the shower, since I was going to shower anyway and squatted down, and placed the cup in. I let it open up juuuuust inside, and pushed it up and toward the back. Kind of. It's kind of hard to explain. More back than up, I guess. I checked to make sure it was open, I rotated it (which was kind of tricky without the stem, but I figured that out) and stood up. I didn't feel a thing and I still don't feel anything. I sneezed, and there was no leak. 10 hours now it's been sitting in there all happy and not a spot on me. I should probably go and check it since the first two days are my heaviest.
What I can't get over though is the feeling of "flow". I can actually feel it flow, but then the feeling just stops. I was so used to pads and feeling wet and the constant "drip" coming out of me. Ick. But this is so weird. I can feel it inside, and the feeling just stops without my feeling that oh so familiar wetness. Which is good, cuz if I felt wet, that would mean I have a leak. Something I have to get used to I guess.
Anyway, that is my experience so far. I love the Diva Cup! I love the Diva Cup!
