First time

Hello! So I tried Menstrual cups for the first time! I am a 25 year old virgin. I got a Fleurcup. I initially got a DivaCup, but I couldn't get it in. With the Fleurcup, it could go in. It was hard for me to take it out. I tried everything, squatting, spoon method etc. My wrist would pain. So I went to the doctor, and she removed it with surgical scissors. She said that my cup got suctioned to my cervix, and that my cup was small for it. Does that mean I should get a large cup? How do I prevent this from happening again?
