What do you do when you have to go swimming and your period is due any day but hasn’t shown up yet. Do you just slip a cup in just to be safe or take a chance?

I ask because my youngest (2) is in (parented) swimming lessons once a week for the next 10 weeks, and I am the one who will have to get into the water with her, so this is bound to happen as I am not regular and don’t usually get much of a warning, I just track it and am wary when it comes.

If I feel like my period is coming or based on time i just put in my cup. Even if I’m not going swimming or anything. I think it’s better to safe than get blood on stuff. I don’t think it’s bad to put the cup in when you don’t have your period. It doesn’t dry you out like a tampon would.

Yeah, there's really no downside to wearing a cup off your period. I have done it, not for swimming, but for other times where being surprised would have been really inconvenient.

I'd just put the cup in.
