Hi, I have been using the Muluna mini size s menstrual cup for about a year now ( i have a very low cervix so it's the only one that fits) and recently there has been a lot of pain when inserting it. The pain is really sharp and lingers for a while afterwards. I am not sure how to fix this problem, I have tried different ways of inserting it and nothing seems to help. I dread having to put my cup back in after taking it out to empty it. Any tips or advice would be helpful :)

Figure out where the pain is. Hymen? Can you stretch the opening? Urethral opening? You might have a mild UTI. Pelvic floor? Learn how to relax your PC muscle. Is the stem poking you? Reposition as needed. Is the cup suctioned onto something? Insert half-way, then make sure it's fully open before boosting it into position? Is the cup touching something sensitive like your cervix? Reposition as necessary.

Will something at http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ have the answer? Keep trying.

I had that sharp pain at removal in my last cycle too, so here are my guesses
1. Will that be hymen?
2. Did u use any lub? If no, try lub it might be becaz of abrasion. If yes, does ur lubricant contain fragrance? Caz i find myself allergic to it
3. Any possibility of upsetting vaginal ph balance or infection? Did u use hand soap to wash it
