I'm close to 12 hours with this cup in and I cannot for the life of me get it out. I'm still super new to menstrual cups but I thought I had removal down..I was wrong. I usually bear down 3 times and it's pretty much out but no matter how much I push it's not moving (btw it's a meluna cup with a ball). At one point I thought I broke the seal as I heard it and had some pink on my fingers but it seems to have resealed. So far I've tried squatting, standing, one leg up, lying down and even had a relaxing bath. I'm not tensing but I can't actually grab my cup where it naturally rests, so not being able to bear down on the cup is a huge problem. It's almost 1am and I've been at this since 9pm, will the cup lower over night if I just head to bed?

EDIT: It's officially 2am so I'm going to bed, Hopefully I can get it out in the morning.

if you're still having trouble getting the cup out, what i used to do when i was new to cups and had trouble removing them was to use two hands, i would use my index finger of each hand to break the seal then use both hands to get the cup down partway. after i pulled it down a little, i'd use one hand as a cup to catch the cup, and the other hand to bring the cup down. i hope you're able to remove it soon, without too much trouble. i know it's easier said than done, but please don't stress too much!

I just tried that but I could only get the fingers in sideways and I couldn't push on the cup because of the awkward angle. Am I doing that wrong?

another thing i used to do is break the suction with the index finger of one hand (my left because i'm right handed) and have the other hand ready to grab and pull on the stem as soon as the suction is broken.

I'm really swollen and super panicked right now so I think I'm going to leave it for an hour or 2 just so my body can settle. At this point just putting in a finger is difficult and painful :(

i'm sorry, i know it can be really hard. if you can take a bath, it might help calm you down a little.

There's a section about removal at http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ Skim the rest for other helpful hints.

You might find that it'll be easier to remove after a bowel movement. I wouldn't worry about it being in for more than 12 hours just the once. I hope all is well in the morning.
