So I bought a Diva cup researched folds to use and then tried practicing for a half hour. I checked with my finger to see if it was up all the way and if any "dent" were in it ,none could be found. Also checked to see if cervix could be felt couldn't find it so thought that was a good thing. The question is I didn't hear the "popping" sound ppl say you hear but when pulling it out I could feel a pull and a slight pop. I normally use instead cups so I thought I'd give this a try but not sure if I have the cup high enough so there wont be any leaks. How high exactly does it need to be? The stem is just inside my labia and I'm seriously thinking of cutting that thing off. My period is supposed to be coming Saturday(if I calculated it right) and was hoping to get the jest of it. Any advice?

Dry runs won't really tell you anything. They're good for practicing insertion and removal -- but even then, you won't know it's in the right place until it either works or doesn't.

Skim/Read http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ Don't trim the stem until you're sure that you won't need it for ALL of your days, especially your later ones when things don't generally hang as low.

Divas have notoriously small anti-suction holes so you might want to enlarge them. Divas are also easily flipped inside out to shorten them if you find that yours is too long on any particular day.

Wear some sort of pad/liner backup until you learn to trust yourself and to trust the cup. There is a learning curve -- usually just a cycle or two. And until then, don't wear it on CRITICAL days (like proms, weddings or other events at which you wouldn't want disaster to strike.) Stick to tried-and-true methods that you know you can trust.

Thank you for the help.. I'm nervous about the first time use but like I said I have used the instead cups so I should be able to master this also.

The cup will sit different on everyone. Some people have cups that sit high, I can have cups sit high and low.

I can't speak to the Diva, but I rarely hear a "pop" - if I do, it means I let the cup open faster than I'd prefer.

I'm doing ok with it.. been a couple days of using the diva cup. Last night I woke up to it being completely flat which I got no idea of how that happened bc I checked to make sure everything was in place. Seems like I am in the heavy flow stage I have to empty it around 5-6 hours and it was half full. This is ALOT better then a 2-3 hours of changing it with the instead cup. So far I think this will work out no leaks just the mysterious flattening of it overnight.
