Hello everyone!
I changed to menstrual cups 1 year ago, and love it! I even got a cup for my mom, but she told me she gets urinary infections everytime she uses it, like when she uses tampons. Also she won't but reusable pads because she hates the idea of cleaning them, so no way to go the reusable path with cloth pads. Is there a remedy, a way to prevent these infections, so that she can use the cup comfortably?
Thanks for your help

It sounds like her urethra might be vulnerable to foreign substances near it. Has she tried peeing *after* inserting it, like what a lot of women do to avoid this problem after sex? She could also try cleaning more thoroughly than ordinarily recommended between emptying it and putting it back in.

What cup did you get your Mum? I get bladder pressure and sometimes burning from cups that are large and/or stiffer. I do better with smaller narrow cups despite having had chidren. The Yuuki rainbow is the only one that hasn't done that in a larger size. Even the small diva cup bothers me.

I have struggled with recurring UTIs my entire life. The only thing I have ever found to work (other than antibiotics) is to take cranberry tablets every day. The ones I'm currently taking are Nature's Bounty triple strength cranberry softgels. I take two every morning with my vitamins and haven't had a UTI since I started them up again a few years ago.
