Hey everyone,

I'm about to start my third cycle trying out my Lunette Cup which I got in the smaller size. For the most part, I can successfully (but slowly) insert and remove the cup and so far haven't had any leakage issues. During the last two cycles however, after the first couple of days of my period my vaginal opening became quite sore and I ceased using the cup for the remainder of my period. On removal I found that getting the rim out was quite painful and that sometimes it was hard to keep the cup slightly pressed in while removing. I was wondering whether getting a softer cup would possibly help this?

If you think that a softer cup would help, any recommendations would be very appreciated! A similar shape and size to the Lunette would be great.

Thank you!

What is your method for removing it? I find it is more comfortable if you sort of squeeze it in an almost C-fold when you pull it out. That way you avoid irritation of the area near the urethra as well... I'm not sure of specific recommendations but I would say look for cups with less prominent rims, as opposed to their firmness? However, there's cups like Si-bell or Lena sensitive that are soft, with relatively gentle rims.
Not sure if it's helpful...

I do try and do the c fold but I'm kind of tight and pretty sensitive down there and I can't really get enough fingers in there to do the c fold properly to remove it that way. Even as much as I can c fold it as rhe whole cup is mostly removed I still struggle to hold it in form and it pops back open as it comes out which is kind of painful. I will look into ones that have less prominent rims though, thank you!
