Hello All!
I am a newbie, on my second cycle attempting to use a small Lena cup and today I found an odd clot (maybe?). It was almost in the shape of the bottom of the cup (kind of like 1/2 a grape, sorry if that's TMI) so I'm wondering if it could be blood that clotted or coagulated after falling into the cup. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen? The other possibility seems to be a very early miscarriage and although I'll probably never know for sure, we have been trying to get pregnant for a while so I'd like to try to figure out which scenario is more likely. Thanks for any help!

It's often hard to tell if it was clotted before or after -- do you know if you were prone to clotting at all before using a cup? Clots are actually the main reason I switched to the cup because I get really bad ones due to PCOS, but oddly enough they tend to kind of "melt" into just a thick puddle in the cup. I worry about miscarriage too and I'm not really sure how to tell the difference, but if you weren't prone to clots in the past it might be something you'd want to mention to your doctor just in case. Best of luck with baby making and figuring out the clotting issue!

You don't only shed blood during you period, but also uterine lining. Sometimes the lining can come out in whole patches. It happens sometimes for me, but not every cycle. With those, while they do look like a clot at first, if I poke at them I can usually see that they are for the most part a balled up thin layer of skin-type stuff and smaller clots, not an actual solid lump.
