I put it in last night, and my cervix must have moved up higher overnight or something, because now I can barely reach the tip of the stem with my middle finger. There's no way I can grab it. Bearing down as hard as possible isn't moving it AT ALL so I don't know what to do. I think maybe my cervix is sitting inside it or it's created a seal too strong. Do I need to go to the ER? Can I wait until my cervix moves down or something? Please please help

I'm very new to menstrual cups myself - this is the first cycle I've worn one for - but from what I've read, squatting should help the cup move lower in your vagina. Maybe try it in the shower area so you can wash away any spillage?

Directly copy-pasted from kuradi8.livejournal.com:

If you don't already, drop your panties to your ankles so you can splay your knees comfortably. Bear down to push the cup lower. Pinch the base and rock it out at an angle so it's not *the whole cup* at once. If it's stubborn, create an air channel on the soft back side to get air into/above the cup so you don't create suction. Whether air seeps in slowly through the anti-suction holes or whooshes over the rim doesn't matter. Stay calm, keep your jaw slack, don't forget to breathe. If it's stuck, try squatting in the tub/shower so you don't have to worry about making a mess or dropping it. If it's really stuck, try using a spoon to break the seal and create an air channel. Then pull it lower and lower until you can remove it. And most of all, TAKE YOUR TIME! The more you rush, the longer it will take.

Wait a bit! Sometimes the cup lowers itself when you move around after you started your day.
Most importantly: don't panic. I know it's hard but it can't get lost.

What particular cup is it? If it's the Diva, the suction release holes are so small that it's probably created suction and that's not helping. If it's most other ups, you just need something longer. Do you have a trusted significant other who's familiar enough with your bits that they could come in and help? :)

and while you're trying these suggestions, you might think about doing it in the shower, if it lets go suddenly, the tub and shower curtain will contain the mess. Good luck!

Breathe, breathe and relax. You are not in danger and it cannot get lost! I'm thinking of you and hoping this resolves soon!

I don't know what the technical reason for this is, but I've also found my cervix is higher in the morning. It should come down a bit within a few hours. You're okay for now.
