Today I attempted to insert my cup (small Lunette) for real this time as i spent much of my last period learning how to hold the cup properly and how to relax my muscles down there at will. I seemed to be getting the hang of both, and thought they'd help a ton in finally using the cup once and for all.
Unfortunately, I ran into a new problem. Whenever I inserted the cup, I would feel pain wherever the tip touches. It's not enough to make me flinch, but it is enough to make me worry about how painful the suction/seal would be if I let go, to the point of me being somewhat afraid to let go of the cup when it's in. The exact feeling is hard to describe, I can best describe it as it being somewhat... scratchy, I guess? Either way I don't know if this is normal and after a somewhat traumatic experience involving a Femmecup's suction (that left me afraid of using cups for two years) i don't really want to risk letting go only to be subjected to a ton of pain.
I don't know why the pain is occuring or how to stop it. Just before inserting the cup, I checked around for my cervix with my finger (and I have somewhat long nails too) and felt no pain. I've even been able to insert an Instead Softcup without feeling much aside from just "knowing" it was there. I don't understand why this only happens when I try a reusable cup, if anyone knows or has advice it'd be much appreciated...
If it helps, I always use the punchdown fold, with the larger part of the fold facing to the side.
