Hi Everyone,

So I have had a cup for close to 7 years now and have lurked but never posted here during that time. For the first time ever I accidentally dropped my diva cup into the toilet- after I pooped. I have washed it with hot water and soap, but don't feel like that is sufficient to sanitize it and use it again. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to make it more usable? I am traveling and have access to a microwave, but that is about it. I can also go to a store to buy something basic, but don't have access to many things currently. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks all!

You can microwave it in a cup of hot water for about 3 minutes, then let it cool.

Silicone is non-absorbent so any (all inclusive) "germs" would be on the surface. Washing with soap and water probably got them off. But if you insist, a dunk and swish in or wipe-down with any number of chemicals such as rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or 10% bleach solution (appx 1 tablespoon per cup of water) would clobber anything that's left. Needless to say, they would all need a thorough rinsing afterward.

You probably impart more hand germs in a non-drop change than what's already left after having washed it.

Soak in peroxide.
