So I have been using the diva cup. Had no problems first few months but now this month it has been leaking.

I know that:
1 - it is open. I run my finger around the inside and it is definitely open up there.
2- my cervix is not outside of it. This was my concern and so I made sure of that.

I do know that there is a lot of air when it pops open. I tried squishing it to remove some air but then it folds together too much and I have to go through the process again. Should I be trying a different cup? For reference I am 31, no children and using a size 2. I am fine with switching to another one if I need to, but since they can be somewhat pricey I figured I would get some advice before I started buying all of them.

Thank you so much!

What kind of leakage? There's a section about leakage at http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ Skim/Read the rest too.

Edited to add: No, don't buy a new cup yet. Figure out how to use the one that you already have, even if you don't think it fits well. Then you'll have a better idea of what you want next in terms of length, width, shape, and features.

The air issue might be fixed if you enlarge the suction holes. They are stupidly tiny on the Diva. and shame on them for not figuring this out and modifying the design. I'd say at least 25 to 30% of the posts here involve the Diva holes being too small.

I think this worked! I enlarged them today and have not had leakage! Weird that something so simple may have been the issue. It also opened right up inside without me basically having to pull it down past the pelvic muscles to open.

I don't understand your thought process or what you're asking. If it's not filled with air, what would/should it be filled with? What is your coffee mug filled with before you put coffee into it?

You're probably thinking: Where does the air in your cup go as flow fills it? It seeps out. It's usually not noticeable but sometimes you'll feel a bigger bubble escape. Perfectly normal.

Hi, no I do understand their is air of course, nothing else would be but to get it open I have to pull it down and almost out and it makes a noise. Didn't do this prior and did not leak prior either. I did what the previous comment suggested and tried making the holes bigger and today that seems to be working.

Basically the diva cup was doing stuff it did not do the first few months in regards to opening. It is hard to explain, but basically I had to pull it down and almost out to get it to open and push it back in. Twisting/different folds were not working. It was completely sealed around the cervix with the cervix inside but somehow was still leaking. Obviously I don't want leaks.

So I was wondering if I should go to a different one but I think making the holes bigger has helped as today it opened right up like normal.
