Does anyone with soft cup experience in general, or Super Jennie experience specifically, have issues with the cup not opening to its full cup shape and therefore losing some capacity? I was happy with my ruby cup but wanted a bit more capacity, so I got a SJ large. I can get it open, but the softer bottom half of the cup seems to collapse in a bit and I'm actually having to empty it more often than my ruby. (although I technically should be getting about 7.5 more MLs)

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner - I didn't have a chance to check in over the weekend.

I use the C-fold with the ends of the C facing my tailbone. I stand with one foot on the toilet and bend forward slightly at the waist to insert. Once I feel that the rim and most of the cup is past the pubic bone, I start to let it go by sliding my fingers down the cup to let the rim open. Once my fingers get near the base of the stem, I gently rock the cup back and forth a bit to encourage it to open all the way. Like I said, if the bottom of the cup still feels dented, wiggling the cup near the base of the stem while bearing down usually rounds the bottom all the way out. Then I run a finger around the cup and the rim to make sure that it's open and that everything feels right. For me, the SJ seems to immediately settle itself where it needs to be on its own.

If it's still not open - like the rim is still scrunched up - you can try pressing on an opposing side of the cup and see if that gets it to pop open.

Bryony (Bree) from Precious Stars Pads made a helpful video on how to remove a cup: https://youtu.be/LljkmNl8qdc. It's the method I use to get mine out. Bree's got a lot of great videos on menstrual cups, so her YouTube channel is definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

Those are my tips, but your experience may vary since everyone's body is different. I hope that the Super Jennie works out for you because it is a great cup!

I love Bree.. Have watched probably all of her videos :) That is how I take my cup out, but when I pinch the base of the SJ, nothing happens, and my cups end up so high up that it is definitely a major struggle to get fingers high enough up there to do anything. I'll keep working at it though!
