Hi All!

I am a senior industrial design student at Georgia Tech and have used a divacup, mooncup and have recently tried the femmycycle! I'm loving my cups, but I think they could be improved. I am currently working on a project to design a new menstrual cup. My design involves a valve at the base of the cup, so you could empty it without removing it during the day ie when you are in a public space without access to a sink (this would be particularly helpful for women with a heavy flow like me). I'm working on making the design SUPER secure, so no worries about leaks from the bottom etc.

What do y'all think? Is this something that cup users would find useful? Any feedback would be super appreciated!

I think if the base has to come out a bit in order to empty it wouldn't really work for those with a high cervix like myself.

I was just going to say this--plus, you'd have to pinch the base a little bit just to pull it down and if the cup is full to capacity, blood would then splash up out of the top.
