Smell with alcohol?

Hi everyone, I've been using a Fleurcup for a few months now and never had any issues with smell, but have also never drunk a lot of alcohol with it in. Last night I had had a lot, around 600ml of vodka, and I slept with my cup in. I took it out in the morning, so it would have been in about 15hours or so. There was a rancid smell to it, which I thought might be related to the alcohol because the smell was similar to fermented wine, and it smelt quite alcoholic. I'm not asking for advice on how to get rid of the smell, I'm just wondering if any of you wonderful people have had a similar experience? Thanks for your time!
