I bought my first diva cup size 2 a few days ago. I know I'm still learning but i'm getting fed up as it just keeps leaking no matter what I do. I tried flipping inside out: leaks worse. I tried repositioning, right side, then the left, pushing it back pulling it forward. I don't know what else to do. I read most of the posts in the threads so not sure what to do next.

My cervix seems to be low. I can touch it no problem and even drag my finger around the whole base of it. i'm 37 and never had kids. the leaks don't seem to be residual as it's bright red. I do collect quite a bit into the cup but it's never full, most was only half way.

Sometimes it seems to start leaking right away other times i'll feel a queef type feeling and then leakage maybe 30 mins 45 mins after insertion. sometimes more blood then other times. my pelvic muscles are pretty strong. I can do keegles without any problems and have been for a long time.

Anything else I can try? are there certain brands better then others for low cervix?

Are you sure your cup is opening fully when you insert it?

Leaking right away usually means you didn't get it in the right place. Try letting it open low down and then boosting it up with your. muscles. The queef feeling for me is a sure sign leakage is coming. I think it's my cervix dangling into my cup and causing overflow. That's harder to deal with and may need a differently shaped cup. But it's pretty early to be shopping around. A lot of this is muscle memory. Your fingers and vagina learn what to do. Keep at it and you'll figure it out!

I had similar issues at first. When it leaks straight away you have probably missed your cervix (if your cervix is low it could be sitting outside the cup - sweep your finger around the cup to check your cervix isn't there). My cervix is low and sits inside the cup meaning it takes up space and I can only fill a cup about 3/4 full. Personally I tried the large fleur and have only experienced leaks when I have waited too long to empty or during exercise. I also tried the luv ur body large but although I could accommodate it - the increased length meant that my cervix dangled further into the cup and the capacity was less than the fleur. Still trying to find a cup I can rely on for excercising or for swimming (mine always take in water).

Hi, thanks for the responses,

I'm quite sure it's full open, as it does collect blood and I can turn it and such once inserted. i'm on my forth day now and today was better. Maybe i'm getting the hang of it? or maybe there's less flow so it's not leaking as much? I don't know. I do bleed A LOT! I usually change a super plus tampon every hour and a half and i still wear a pad for extra protection. I was really hoping to not have to empty the cup as often but i guess if I have to I have to.. it's just 30- 45mins seemed excessive.

I tried sweeping my finger around it but there's not a lot of space and i can't get a finger up to touch the rim and see if it's fully around my cervix. yesterday my cervix seemed a bit higher then then day two which was the day I had most problems. i've been reading a lot about the dangly cervix thing so i'm not sure if that's the issue?? what do i look for to confirm this?

I probably won't be much help but I'm having the same issue (I.e. Blood collecting in the cup but still leaking). I have also been told it's due to a dangly cervix although I've never really been able to find my cervix (or I have and I just didn't know because I'm not sure what it feels like). But I've been told to try a higher capacity cup so I ended up getting a complimentary large Lena cup which I'm going to try next period, and I might try looking into the Super Jennie because it has a very high capacity and apparently is very successful for people with dangly cervixes. So maybe you should try a larger cup??

I'm EXACTLY the same as you. Let me know if a larger cup works for you. I'm so...it's so disheartening sometimes :(

It turns out I needed to get used to it. I have a much better hang of it now and getting it in properly. I can tell when it's not fully opened and on less heavy days it doesn't leak anymore, on heavy days I have to empty almostevery hour which is annoying (I bleed like crazy) so I think I do want to get a higher capacity cup which I'm hoping it will help. For now I just wear a pad on heavier days. Good luck!

Bah! Sorry - I'm happy that it's working for you, but I suppose I was hoping for a clue on how to get mine to work and not leak. I'm honestly not sure how it's *not* in properly. It's fully open, but I'm still stuck with wearing a pad...

But I know it works! Like yesterday, for example - I kept going back to the loo to take it out and see try again, and then finally, FINALLY - one just stuck. I mean, I was also just wholly 'ok, I'm done' at that point so couldn't be bothered to try AGAIN, but it just...stuck. Like a magic seal. I got home late last night and everything was where it should, no leaks, no nothing.

But then I pop it in for the night, wear a pad just in case, and definitely needed it. Not a huge amount, but needed it.

I think what's so annoying is that there are times where I'm clearly getting it right, but I can't seem to make it stick.

Okkkkkkkk and now I'll stop. Suppose I needed to vent a bit!

I'm having the same issue, except mine worked fine and pretty much leak free for 4 cycles. Now it's leaked, only on the toilet but i was up at 3 this morning then 8. Seems it wants to leak every 4 to 5 hours even though it's not full and only had to deal with it twice a day on the other cycles. I'm not sure what's changed. I did file down the end to make it smoother and eliminate the irritation it had caused. I could cry.

Ugh. That's terrible. Facing issues after 4 months of it working cannot be fun. I have read that cervix height can change not only during your cycle, but also from month to month. Does your cervix seem lower than it did the previous 4 cycles?

I'm not sure what it was. Maybe cramps somehow moved it....although highly unlikely. My cervix is low at the start of my cycle and possibly lower this time round but the cup wasn't completely full either. I had filed it so it was nice and smooth and didn't cause the irritation because it does sit at the entrance. Hasn't happened since just one day and night where I was changing it about every 4 hours. I did start some new medication which causes frequency so it could have been that I was just in the toilet more than usual. Still......a nasty surprise and luckily only on the toilet. Could have been I was just off? The master I thought I was got shattered. Still....way better than any other method so I'm sticking with it.
