As of lately, I have had really heavy periods, and I mean REALLY heavy.
...............
Luckily for me I found a temporary solution in the meantime which slows my period so it is managable. It's to take 550 mg of Naproxen Sodium (OTC). It lasts for around 12 hrs. and it was a Godsend to me last month! The doc told me that this should not be helping my period stop but I told her I read about it online that it is supposed to work and it was working for me. She said if that's the case it would be ok to take it.
But anyway, now you see why I am looking for the largest cup I can get.
I recently bought the Meluna XL because I heard it will hold more than the Yuuki. When it arrived, I filled the large Yuuki to the top with water and poured it into the Meluna XL and the Meluna XL did not hold as much as the Yuuki! So now I am wondering about the Luv Ur Body cup which actually has a slightly bigger diameter and is slightly longer than the Yuuki. Anyone have these cups to do a comparison?

Re: Thanks!
The LUB is a very soft cup. Softer than Fleur (I think?). That being said, I've had a much easier time popping open the LUB than, say, the Sckoon, another soft cup. I'd say that if you have at least a moderately high cervix (I.e., enough space in your vagina above the pubic bone), you probably won't have a problem getting the LUB fully open.

I also find that Meluna XL forms an excellent seal! I recommend that one a lot for folks seeking high capacity cups. I bought one about the same time as the LUB and found it quite satisfactory, but I've been using the LUB exclusively because the material is smoother, the volume is significantly more, and the seal is also excellent. (Also much easier to remove with my high cervix!) They are both great cups. With a heavy flow, I actually think seal is a more important consideration than volume for cups in the >25ml range. So if you get a good seal, that's awesome. For me, it worked out that LUB gave me 38ml AND a good seal. Cup heaven.

I generally have a pretty heavy flow, with fluid loss is well over 150 ml with most of that loss taking place over 48 hours. It's a mess to deal with, and I often feel a bit anemic around my period. My last cycle, for which my flow was moderate (for me), less than 100 ml (more than manageable with LUB). I took one 400 mg pill ibuprofen as soon as I got my period and continued to take throughout the first two days of my period. This is the first time I tried using ibuprofen to slow the bleeding, but my period was noticeably lighter. Mind you, other factors in my life might have affected the volume. Can't be sure! I'll try it again next month, as I quite enjoyed not feeling anemic this go-around.

Will definitely start looking into Vitamin E supplements, as I'd rather not burden some of my organs with too much ibuprofen if I don't have to!
