I just got a model 1 juju cup which is the first time I ever used a menstrual cup. Today is my second day of period I have no problems with the inserting or the removing but I am having a bit of leaking. Its not alot but it usually starts after 7 hours or so. When I remove the cup it is about abit over half full. I think it may be leaking because its full but I thought its suppose to be good for 12 hours or could it be that I am doing it wrong. Thanks

Wow 7 hours is great!! 12 hours would be on light days or spotting, also overnights can go a bit longer than normal. You change it when its full. It could be that your cervix is taking up room or youre not getting enough air into it? But 7 hours is a good result

It's good for up to 12 hours, which means that it's safe to wear it for 12 hours; it doesn't mean that it will not ever be full within those 12 hours.

If someone told you that the cup is good for 12 hours, you have my permission to point at them and say 'liar liar pants on fire'. Because that's just not true.

Yep. I agree with what has already been said. Skim/Read http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ for more. You're doing everything right. You'll be through the dreaded learning curve in no time. :o)

I really wish there were an asterisk with a disclaimer for "up to 12 hours" - or at least an explanation in the instructions that the amount of time varies based on rate of flow - so everyone didn't expect to get that amount of time before emptying the cup on their heaviest day. It is misleading!
