Hi! So, I bought a large Iriscup from amazon on the day I received the cuplee. I have mailed the cuplee back to the company to received a refund. The reason that I returning the cuplee I have written a separate post but it went into the moderation queue, not sure when it will be posted. Last night, auntie red came knocking so I was very excited that I can tried my iriscup. I used the 7 fold because the tip is small so less painful to insert for me. But after I inserted the cup, it stay flatten. I tried pulling the stem to open the cup. After what seems like a very long time, I just pull the cup out. Can any soft cup users give me any tip on opening the cup. Oh! I tried the labia fold first but it hurt when I tried to insert so I used the 7 fold like I have with the juju cup.

Update:
So I tried the diamond fold while sitting on the toilet. I was not able to insert the whole cup in because when it was half way in, the latter part just want to pop open and my fingers aren't strong enough to hold the cup in shape. I tried a few time then went back to the triangular fold. The cup went in but it was flat and suctioned to the cervix.... I spent a lot of time to remove it and I couldn't...(a little anxious). But, I thought I should just go make dinner first and came back to it later. I was able to remove it later, yay!!! But my stomach hurts afterward XD I also found out that my cerivx was 2 knuckles in with my middle finger. Maybe I should get the small iris... but would it be as hard to pop open as the large?

Sorry to hear that about the cuplee!

I find the punch down fold works for me. But this last month I did have a little trouble with my cup opening, and it is a cuplee so it's soft. I just tried again, and pulled it down a little. Maybe doing that will help it open up and fill with air?

Thank you for the suggestion! I will give it a try again tomorrow... I tried it again during shower today, I couldn't even insert the cup >.< I tried several time and my bottom part was just hurting so much from the attempts to insert. In the end, I used my juju again. Maybe I'm too greedy for wanting to use a large softer cup as a inexperience cup newbie, maybe a small might be better XD

Found out small iris cup and juju has the same diameter! Large iris cup is 45mm. Didn't know 5 mm difference in diameters will make that much difference in inserting.

(not sure if i used the correct words in the sentence for difference or different, sorry about the grammatical errors)

You're welcome! I haven't had any luck with a big cup yet, either.

No problem. :)

I can only use soft cups so I might be able to help a little. I use the ultimate soft cup which is the soft Meluna. When I first started using it I almost tossed the thing Because I was so frusterated! Then I realized that manually opening your cup is easiest with a few folds.

I also like the small insertion point and I can reccomend the half diamond fold. When you insert it inside of you, you will notice that part of the rim stays folded down. Push that lid up to manually open it and that's it! Use lubricant or water and the lip slides even easier. Bree shows a visual in her video. It's around the 2:00 minute mark. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the link to the video! I will use the diamond fold this time, hope it will work. Also, after watching the video I realized I have used the triangular fold but I kept thinking it's call the 7 fold XD

I have same feeling toward the large iriscup now... kind of just want to toss it and get a small one XD but I will give it a try again! Thanks!

You are very welcome! I have people telling me on my blog all the time that after trying the half diamond fold, their soft cups open now. So I have faith that it will work, just be patient! Because I was NOT patient and now I'm glad I didn't sell mine. I was literally about to post my cups on mc_sales and thought, "okay, maybe ONE more try..." And it worked!

The c fold and punch down fold were completely useless for me and that's why I was getting so frusterated.

Keep me posted! I would love to help some more if that fold doesn't work. :)

While I don't use the softcups, I always have this issue the first day I need it. :S

Maybe it's because it's not as lubricated inside so makes it harder to insert... :( Hope I will succeed today! XD

I always just assumed it was just the way everything was situated, since it never seems to be a moisture issue. I did partake in a clinical study last year, and was told my uterus sits back, so that might have something to do with it?

The half diamond was my go-to for the Lily (because of its unique design, my standard labial fold didn't work for that one). Other than that, as long as the cup isn't too "rimmy" the labial fold works best for me.

I'm interested to hear what happened with the Cuplee--the post you made could be stuck in the queue if it contained a link. Apparently posts with links are automatically queued and not posted right away. If I want to link to a new cup brand or story or something, what I'll do to get around it is post the original post without the link, then later, go back and edit it, adding the link. That seems to fix it.

Thanks for the posting tips! The post regarding the returning cuplee does contain links to the pictures. Because I don't know how to embed pictures in the post so I used a external website to link to those pictures. I did try to look into the archive for old entries, to see if I can find the unpost entry. But, I couldn't find any of my old entries, very strange...
