this is my first cycle using my divacup 2. I get it in and it pops open but sometimes when i feel around the bottom to make sure it's open it feels a bit dimpled like it's really suctioned so of course that makes me think it's going to leak so i mess with it (using kegels, twisting, and scootching it up and down) til i have to take it out and start over. if i would leave it like that would it leak? cus it's in the right spot and it's open all the way I do feel around to make sure. I am on my heavy day right now. I haven't had any leaks at all so far. I just don't want to leak especially since i am on my way to bed, so i thought i would ask you ladies who are knowledgeable about the cups. thank you in advance

It shouldnt do if it's open around the top and in place. Maybe a different insertion fold would let more air in, they say the more complicated the better. If you google "menstrual cup folds youtube" it should come up with how-to videos. Experiment :) it's your learning curve ;D

I have watched the folds video bree has done i am just waiting til the end of this cycle to practice others. right now i am using the punch down fold. the rim at the top is completely open I do check for that. it's just the base is dimpled like due to suction. I also have pushed against the sides to see if that will open up the base and it has worked a couple times and some others hasn't.

I've had that happen to me quite a few times and I've noticed that it happens during my heavy days. For me at least, when that happens, it doesn't leak except when it's full to the air holes and because the flow collects in to the cup, it pushes the dimpled pocket out is everything is a-okay.

I too use the punch-down fold and I used a LadyCup small when all that dimpled pocket-ting happened. I'm waiting for my next period to try my Meluna extra large as I found that the LadyCup is way too small to handle my heavy days.

Although, I must note that my LadyCup is quite squishy and perhaps that is creating all the pocket-ting I've experienced. I don't know about the DivaCup as they do not sell those in my country. Is it quite squishy?

the diva is a tad more firm than squishy

Try enlarging the anti-suction holes around the rim. They help with popping open and also with removal (which you don't seem to have a problem with.) Skim/Read this http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ for other helpful hints. If it isn't leaking, don't worry about it. ;o) "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I have read that already :) but i haven't enlarged the holes as of yet

Since the Diva is so long, your pubic bone could be crushing the base a little. That will cost you some capacity, but if it's not causing leaking issues, maybe you won't mind. This happens with my large Si-Bell sometimes because my pubic bone is really high.

no it's not leaking. I have messed with it a bit and it fully opens but sometimes that just takes too long lol I only have one bathroom in my house and with 3 adults here ya gotta make it snappy.

It's not leaking... that means you're doing it right!

You'll get faster at insertion and removal Anya - it just seems like it takes ages for the first few months
