This is my fourth month using a menstrual cup. I use a size small juju cup. Last night, I inserted the cup and I felt a pressure on my rectum. It felt plugged.... After a while, I took it out and was able to let out gas... (sorry... I don't mean to be graphic...) Also, when I was taking out the cup, I felt I was pulling at something. It felt like the cup was holding on to something and won't let go...Do I need a softer and shorter cup?

Hi marieb8888,

I'm very interested in the sibell cup too! Could you let me know how it works for you after you try it?

Thank! I will wait for your review on the sibell! I did look into some reviews on the sibell cup, some said it takes a little practice to open it up after insert. Yes, I do live in the US XD

The pressure will probably abate after a while. And what you felt on removal was probably suction that was created. Get air into/above your cup as you remove it to keep that from happening.

Oops. Edited to add: Get through a whole cycle or two before buying another cup. You'll have a better idea of what you like/don't about this one so the next one will be an improvement. Use the size charts to make length/width adjustments. http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ There are others at the Community FAQ if you don't like those.

Hi kuradi8, thanks for the suggestion! I have been using juju cup for the 4th month. I used it on the first days of my cycle. The second month I was already thinking about getting a softer cup but wanted to give juju cup a try again, since I already spent big money on this one....But after this time, I do want to go for a softer cup or switch to cloth pad(just bought one recently) or back to disposable pad...... I will do more study before I make the decision. By the way, thanks for the size chart! It's very useful.

mszizi, did you end up trying a new cup? (I'm having a somewhat-similar issue after a few years using my Lunette.)

Hello mcpuffington,

I did buy a new cup, small Iris cup. It's very soft and I like the softness. However,I haven't successfully insert the cup inside yet... I can't get it to pop open with the fold I used for my juju cup. I inserted once without it popped open but I just leave it inside. Of course, it leaked afterward. But, it was pretty comfortable while it was inside.
