I just started using a diva cup, new to cups but have used tampons for years with no issues. Starting to figure it out now, thanks to your lovely community I've realized I have a very low cervix and am looking into a smaller cup for next month. But over the last few days its been a trial with some major shoving pushing and pulling.... leading to my current problem.

I noticed this morning when reinserting this morning that there is now a pea sized lump next to the opening to my vagina, on the outside slightly behind the opening, towards the back of the labia majora. Fairly certain this was not there before. It feels like a swollen bruise & is dark red, has anyone else managed in injure themselves inserting a diva cup in this way? Or am I just uniquely accident prone? I've switched back to pads for now to see if it goes away on its own. Some initial research indicated it might be a cyst, but upon more digging determined that it was not in the right place for one.

Thanks for your help :)

It's probably a zit.

I think it unlikely that the cup caused it.

it's likely a blocked pore

The Diva was a little long for me. The Fleurcup has been much better.

I think your lump is probably an infected/irritated or blocked hair follicle.

Any chance you accidentally pinched yourself there while trying to get the cup out or in? From your description, it sounds like what happens when you pinch your skin in a drawer or something like that.

Sounds like a Bartholin cyst?
