I've been using the Diva Cup model 1 for a little over a year. Overall, I've been really happy with it. It's the first menstrual cup I've ever used, and I'm a believer!

However, I do wonder if it's the best option for me. I've always experienced a little leaking/spotting with it - usually just a little, but enough that I feel I have to wear liners. Lately, it's been quicker to leak, and "slipping out" a little easier, too - I don't feel quite as secure with it as I did a year ago.

I'm turning 30 this year, so I don't know if I should a) get a new Diva Cup model 1, b) switch to Diva Cup model 2, or c) try a new cup altogether. I'm hoping you more experienced users can offer some insight.

Thanks in advance!

There are guidelines and size charts at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ and several other sets at the Community FAQ. Also follow the link to my Answers to Common Questions for some other helpful hints. One of them is flipping your Diva inside out to shorten it on those days that it feels too long.

Thanks. The size chart is good to know about. I was hoping to hear from Diva users about what might be causing the leaking - I don't know if it's size, age of the cup, the "holes," etc. I've not noticed any big problem with the length of the cup (although I did trim the stem down to almost nothing).

Also, in general, I have to say how thrilled I am to have this site as a reference for the cup. I've learned so much here from all you brilliant women!

"Slipping out" always makes me think of 2 things--it's too long (which is likely with the Diva; it's the longest big-name cup in the body without the stem included) or your PC muscles are weakening. Since you didn't mention having a child in between your purchase and now, and 30 is really not that old, I'm suspecting it's the former...your cervix may have started dipping a little with age, as I've noticed in the 2 years I've been using cups. You might like something shorter with a blunt base--maybe the Fleur?
