Hi everyone,

I'm a young teen with a medium cervix. My school is going to be taking a trip to Disneylad soon and I am going to be on my period at that time. I looking to find another cup because we spend the entire day out and about from about 7 in the morning to around 10 at night. I know that cups should not be kept in for more than twelve hours, but I would rather not remove my menstrual cup in one of the bathrooms in Disneyland. I already have a small Lunette which I love, but after about eight hours on my heavy days it starts to leak. What are some higher capacity cups that you would recommend?

Depending on how far out this trip is I think it would be a better bet to get used to using your cup in a public restroom. I've had to empty my cup at school a few times, and as long as there is enough toilet paper you should be fine.

I recommend keeping the one that you have and emptying it as needed -- even if it's in a public restroom.

If there is a larger, special needs stall, I usually use it when I need to empty my cup in a public restroom (elbow room and a feeling of more privacy!) I agree with the others, just relax and make sure there's enough TP before you get started.

I agree with the others, even if you're not able to wash the cup, it's ok to empty it in the bathroom and just put it back in.

I also recommend sticking to what you already have. It'll save you potential grief of going through a learning curve with a new cup and will save you money that you can put toward treats and souvenirs from your trip. Since you're already comfortable using your cup, I'll bet you'll find it easier to deal with in a public bathroom than you might think. I know I did the first time I emptied mine in a public bathroom.

Away from home, I always have a water bottle on me, so I just rinse my cup in the stall and then reinsert. You could also keep a small cloth inside your cup's pouch for wiping the cup out if you don't like the idea of using TP to do that.

You can also get a soft water bottle to roll up into your bag. (all pics I found were on sales sites, not allowed here)
Fill it at the sink, then go into the stall to rinse your cup.

I went to Disney world and went from 8:30 am to 11 pm... On one of my heaviest days.

There's been times when I've been lazy, or/and forgetful. 2-3 days without changing on lighter days won't hurt. In fact, sometimes it's more comfortable to leave them be until you get better at inserting. Also the body will start to get used to them. (At least that's what happened with me.)

If I tried taking it out at night, and reinserting it, I sometimes couldn't fall asleep. If it'a full, I can't sleep either. Your body can give you clues on what it needs or suggests you should do. ;) you'll get into the swing of things eventually. Unfortunately, if I leak in public, I just wad up some toilet paper and put on a liner (keep the cup in). With my favorite cup, I have a preferred removal and insertion technic that I'm not going to do in public. I'm also a clencher.. I don't think I would be relaxed enough in public.
