Hi. I've been a cup user 3.5 years now. 22 years old virgin. I have tried both sizes of the lunettes and the fleurcup (purchased in late 2012). I really love the texture of the small lunette - it is perfect. It's not too soft that it is hard to open, but not too hard that it is uncomfortable, cannot move with the body, or cannot catch clots. The only problem is that it doesn't have the capacity i want. I have a very heavy flow.

So i bought the large lunette, which is WAY TOO STIFF. It opened very easily, but when i sat, it did not mold with my body, and could not spring back quickly enough when i change positions, and therefore didn't catch blood most of the time. It also could not catch clots due it's stiffness.

Then i tried the fleurcup that was purchased in 2012. I heard that fleurcup made their cups softer in 2011 or 2012. I love the shape and capacity of the large fleurcup, but it is way too soft. it is very hard to open.

Any suggestions on which cup might be my goldilocks?

Have you seen the size chart? http://sizecharts.livejournal.com
Are you wanting a soft-ish cup with more capacity that opens easily? I am not sure what you mean when you say the lg Lunette couldn't catch clots due to stiffness. If the cup is positioned properly under the cervix, it should catch whatever the cervix is "throwing"?!
I can't help wondering if the large Fleur is simply too big due to shape, because it is certainly not the softest cup. Most people don't have trouble getting the Fleur to open due to softness, but it would definitely be difficult if there isn't adequate space.

Heavy Flow "small" cup
I have similar issues. Heavy flow, but need short narrow cups.

My first suggestion is SckoonCup. It's super-de-duper comfortable and has a good capacity for it's size. It has a very long tail, but the tail is soft, I haven't even trimmed mine it's not a problem at all. It also has good capacity for it's size (rated as 23mL but I can't vouch for that).

Beyond that, you might look at MeLuna. On a heavy day I use their Medium, but after two days it makes me sore so I wouldn't recommend that size for your whole cycle. I got the Medium in soft and it's a pain in the ass to get it open, so I'm not sure I can recommend soft. I got stemless so that it's short enough for me to wear, but they have a variety of stem options which is super cool.

I also have the Small size MeLuna. It has less capacity than the Medium (15mL v 20mL) but is a lot more comfortable. And since that one is regular "softness" it functions normally for opening.
