So I was just wondering if any of you have purchased cups from ebay and if so what the results were?   Any horror stories?  Any really good ones?  Can we trust the silicone from China?

I don't think there's anything (quote-unquote) "bad" or "dangerous" about the quality of Chinese cups -- but I have ethical problems with the fact that many of the designs are blatant copies of successful cups. And also that some of the information (for example the dimensions and capacities) is copied and pasted from other cups without regard to accuracy about their cups.

But the generics and knock-offs are a lot of bang for the buck and they're a good way for new cup users to see how they like cups and to figure out what size/shape of cup will fit best.

I think I recognize your ID as an experienced cup user. If you are, then use what you know about your cup to figure out how much longer/shorter wider/narrower you want your next cup to be and compare the dimensions at any of the size/capacity charts at the Community FAQ or at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/

If you're asking to give one to a curious friend, then GO FOR IT! It's a good inexpensive way for your friend to figure out if she likes cups and/or needs one with different dimensions.

Oh hey! Didn't think anyone would remember me. :) Yeah, I have two friends that are really curious but not committed, and I'd like to get them something to try. :-D Thanks!
