I'm 27, sexually active, and have never been pregnant. This is like the 3rd or 4th cycle I have used my diva cup. I love that it is a natural option for what is usually a miserable week for me. I love that I don't have to buy pads or tampons anymore. I DON'T love that I am still struggling with leaks on my heavier days. Today, I have already had to change it three times. This last time I just took it out completely and put on a pad. Ugh!! I have read about "finding my cervix" so, I'm gonna try that, but I am thinking I need to try the larger size. My question is, should I get another Diva, or should I try another brand? I want so desperately to make this work! Help!!

I'd suggest figuring out why it's leaking before buying another cup.

It could be user error and once you figure out the best placement you won't need another cup at all. Or, your problem may be something that can be solved with a cup that's wider/shorter/firmer rather than just higher capacity and you'd be best off consulting the size chart and picking a different model. And even if it is just a capacity issue, there are bigger cups than the large Diva that might be better options.

What’s the best way to figure out what’s why it’s leaking? I measured my cervix with my index finger and I could feel it once my finger was at the second knuckle in. I read that I may need to let it unfold sooner, so, we’ll see what happens.

Process of elimination mostly. If it's full up when it leaks, then capacity is the problem. If it's not full, then it's something else besides the size.

Then when you first put it in, run a finger all around the outside the cup while it is inside you to check that it's all the way open and your cervix is still above it. Your cervix isn't always in the same place through out your period so some days your cup could be better placed than others even when you're putting it in the exact same way.

If it started in the right place and partially filled then started leaking later you may have a problem with the cup shifting or squishing. So again, check it with a finger to figure out where it migrated in relation to your cervix. Then depending on the situation, pick out a firmer/wider/shorter cup.

Is it filling up? If not, then perhaps it's technique.

But if it's leaking, you may need a bigger cup.

Hmmm, is the cup comfortable? I'm not sure but maybe you have a low cervix? The Diva cup is a long cup so maybe it's not working well with your body type?

Have you seen the videos from Precious Star Pads and also Dirty Diaper Laundry? They have great tips there too.

I'm still learning too, I usually do the punch fold. Also you can do dry runs and practice when not on your period.

I have the Sckoon cup and the only way to get it in was lying on my back. I could feel it gently pop open once it was past the pubic bone. And just feel around with a finger to make sure it's opened properly. The Lunette was good and really didn't have to struggle opening it.

Oh and yeah, sometimes it's the cup. I just got an order of new cups and I hope that they will not leak.

If it's not always full when it leaks there are a few possibilities. As others mentioned you might be missing your cervix (putting the cup up next to it rather than under it--yeah, that upper part of your vag is roomier than you think it is!) or maybe it's not unfolding all the way. The long-cup-vs-lowish-cervix could be an issue too--luckily most cups are shorter than the Diva so you can pretty much have your pick.

Skim/Read this http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ It will help you figure out what's going on and offer a few things to try.

That link has some really great info! Especially the pictures from the French website! Thanks!

Is the leakage right away or after a few hours? Is the cup full, partly full, or empty?

Keep in mind that 12 hours is a best case scenario. Some days I can only go 1-2 hours before having to empty the cup.
