So I have have had 2 kids (in my forties!). Average cervical height I think.

I am trying my Diva cup 2 for the first time as a "dry run". I noticed that I could feel the stem and so now trying it inside out. I can still "feel" the bottom of it. Am I just not putting it in far enough? I put it in right side out yesterday and after a walk it started coming out! Do I just have weak pelvic floor muscles? I could also start to pull it out without breaking the "seal". I will keep trying but also hoping I don't have to get a different model. Was hoping this was going to be the answer to all my tampon issues. Never felt right after kids. Heard so many good things about these cups!

Sounds to me like the diva is too narrow for you. Definitely try the flipping it inside out trick, but if it still slips down, I'd suggest a wider cup. Fleur large, meluna XL, luv ur body and sckoon large re some I've tried, but the charts will help you identify others.

Also, dry runs aren't too reliable, so you might want to try your diva for a cycle or so to see if you can learn more about what would work for you.

As a mother to a too-big baby who's also in her 40s (me not the baby of course)I've found kegels help, but I'm never going back to my pre-birth dimensions and I've found success with my cups! Good luck.

Shorter cup?
So I tried the Divacup for a cycle but I just think its too long. The Meluna cups (Meluna cup mini med) looks shorter however looks like they won't ship to Canada. Their site also says they are coming out with shorter cups with different widths for us "middle aged" women. Any advice on getting one to Canada? Or should I just try the Sckoon cup lg?

Re: Shorter cup?
Did you flip your Diva inside out to shorten it? It's perfectly OK to wear it that way if it fits you better.

The jump in length from a Diva to a Meluna Mini is a HUGE difference. Compare them and other brands at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ or any of the other size charts found at the Community FAQ.

MeLunas CAN be shipped to Canada or anywhere else in the world. Their site is misleading. What they mean is that there are no distributors in Canada and therefore they aren't available on a wholesale level to be re-sold. However, you can buy their cups for your own personal use and they WILL ship them to you.

Re: Shorter cup?
Yes I did flip it and it was still too long and coming out. Plus there was a bit of leaking. Also had a small amount of cramping so maybe a softer cup would help too? So I'm thinking the Sckoon would be good? Although the new ones from Meluna sound interesting. Out in October apparently.

Re: Shorter cup?
You're probably not going to like my answer but a new, different, shorter cup might not help until you strengthen your PCs. Go ahead and try with whatever cups call to you -- but they won't necessarily succeed until your muscles are strong enough to hold them in.

If you don't like the Kegel advice I offered last month then Google is your friend for other methods. Or consult a professional. A Gyno, Urologist or combination of the two will probably have the best advice and methods for you in terms of exercises to get your vag back in shape.

Re: Shorter cup?
I do appreciate the advice! You make a good point. I have been doing Kegels but with out the help of any "tools". Just a realization that I'm not a spring chicken anymore and this is not as easy as just learning to insert a cup;)

Re: Shorter cup?
Well, the mini med meluna is MUCH shorter than the diva (from what I've read). You have lots of choices between them that still preserve capacity. Check the size charts. I do still love my sckoon, but others probably would also work for you.

But if you want the meluna, I'm pretty sure they ship everywhere if it's for personal use. I think the warning you're reading is about importing for sales. At least that's what it refers to in the US. And I read that there's a new meluna-US. They might ship to Canada, but don't have the colored cups.

Edited to add: oops, I just responded to your comment and didn't check for other responses first. Sorry for the repetition. But, I still think you can get a cup that works now and don't have to wait for your muscle tone to improve. Try a shorter, wider cup while you kegel and let us know how it goes. I had the same slipping issue with the diva at first, moved to my fleur/sckoon cups and now the diva is fine. I think using cups helps with tone too.
