Please help with suggestions...
I am 25 and I have a 1 year old and am still bf so I have no idea when my period will return, but I really want to try a cup! But I'm very confused, there are so many options. I'm little (5'1) and my daughter was born naturally. Also, I'm allergic to latex and I can barely touch my cervix with my middle finger, not sure about during my period though. TIA!

Do you have a sense of how your vaginal tone's doing? Some people can't use a cup for a while after giving birth, and if things feel more slack than before you should probably have a wider diameter cup at least until you've got the muscles back to normal.

If you can reach your cervix while not menstruating (assuming it's in around the same place while BFing as it would be between periods), it's not particularly high. You won't know how far it comes down during your period until you have one, but if you don't want to wait I'd suggest you don't get something long like a Diva.

What was your flow like before, and does this tend to change after childbirth? If it's heavy (filling a super pad or tampon every couple of hours) then it's worth looking at larger capacity cups.

If you really want to buy a cup now and you're not bothered about having to get another if it doesn't work out then go for it, there's a decent chance it'll work out. I think it makes more sense to wait until you start bleeding though, and see where you are then. You can follow this community in the meantime and hopefully you'll be less confused when you're ready to start using a cup.

Your external dimensions have nothing to do with your internal ones. There are size and capacity charts at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ and several others at the Community FAQ. A medium length, wide cup will probably be a good starting point. Use shape and other factors to narrow down your final choices. Pointy or blunt? Flared rim or not? Etc. The US Keeper is the only one made of Latex. MeLunas are made of TPE. And every other brand is made of silicone.
