Hey guys! New member here, this was the easiest and most 'private' way I could ask this question of other cup users.

I've been using a Mooncup B-size since last September, and until this past March, everything's been great with removal. Super easy, no pain, nothing. But with my cycle in March, and every one since then, it's been very painful to remove in the first few days of my cycle. It doesn't feel like suction pain--in fact it feels more like my vaginal walls have swollen up. When I pull on the stem it feels like I'm trying to pull my insides with it. I tend to leak more at the beginning of my cycle as well, and removal is very messy (before this started happening I didn't leak at all). I end up having to force my fingers in far enough to grasp the base of the cup and grit my way through the pain to remove it. Re-insertion is no problem.

I was recently diagnosed with cystic ovaries, but I don't know if that's associated.

Has anyone else had similar issues? I haven't gotten a chance to discuss this with my doctor, since I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

There is that, but I don't have a yeast infection. Pretty sure I would have noticed that... My cycle was delayed a week because of them however, but the symptoms of this swelling has been the same for the last three cycles.

You really can have thrush and not realise it. It happened to me and I was already used to having mild infections that weren't hugely obvious. If you can poke around without your cup in and don't feel more sensitive than normal then it's probably not, but keep it in mind as a possibility.
