Hi everyone!

I'm new in general to inserting things, and I would really appreciate any help!  I originally bought a Lunette, but I can't get it to work.  I don't know if it's because perhaps I have a low cervix, so suction is created while the cup is halfway out (and I can't get it up any higher), or if perhaps I'm not stretched out enough to place the Lunette deep enough.  I'm able to use the Softcup without any difficulty, but the capacity is a bit low for my heavy days, and I'd love to use the Lunette since it's a more environmentally friendly option.  I don't experience pain when I insert the folded Lunette, but when it unfolds, it either really hurts opening up (and then it's ABORT MISSION, ABORT ABORT), or it opens up and creates suction lower down so that the top of the bell can be seen from the outside.  When it opens up successfully, I do try to move it up, but with no success.

Thanks in advance!

Head on over to the Community FAQ. There are posts with answers to all of your questions. Good ones to read are the Virgin's Guide to Cups, the one about Myths, and the Commonly Asked Questions.

Basically, you're in the dreaded learning curve. We all went through it. It takes a few days to figure out how to get these cups in and out, and then a couple of cycles to learn to trust them. In the mean time, wear some back-up just in case. And try to figure out what you did right when things go well, and what you did wrong if they don't.
