I bought my first cup a week or two ago after reading some very helpful information on this site. I chose a Lunette because it seemed to be the best cup for me based on research & other reviews. But I ordered it from Sckoon.com because it was slightly cheaper there than on any other site I could find.

Unfortunately, when I received my package, they had sent me a Sckoon Cup instead of a Lunette by mistake. I called their customer service, who confirmed that I did in fact order the Lunette. Has anyone else had this experience? I am curious as the whether this is a common problem with this site. After all, they are affiliated with Sckoon, so I immediately wondered if maybe this mistake was really their way of simply selling more of their own cups, counting on me being too impatient and excited to return it. Which I am, basically - I am so excited to start using menstrual cups that I am tempted to go ahead and open the package without questioning which brand will work best for me.

But I'm a college student, and I certainly don't have the money to buy an extra cup. The reason I did so much research in the first place was that I cannot really afford to make a mistake in cup selection. So I am wondering whether I should exchange my Sckoon cup for the Lunette that I originally ordered, or if I should keep the one I got & Sckoon Cups a try. Like I said, it's my first cup, so maybe it doesn't really matter which cup I have? I just need some advice.

If you look at the size and capacity charts, the small Sckoon you got is 40x45 with a capacity of 23ml. The small Lunette is slightly larger at 41x47 with a slightly higher capacity of 25ml. The Sckoon has a fairly blunt base. The Lunette is a little pointier.

So do you think the smaller Skoon will fit as well? Do you think you'll miss the extra 2ml of capacity? Do you think you would prefer the shape of one over the other? These are all questions you'll have to ask and answer by yourself.

And yes, let them know that you ordered one thing but got another. Up to you whether you keep or swap the one you got.

Considering everything you said, I would suggest exchanging the cup. If you did a lot of research, you must have chosen the Lunette for a reason. Since you can't afford a replacement, it would be a shame if you were stuck with a cup that doesn't suit you.

I second what v-veronika said. You've done your research and shouldn't feel pressured to choose the other brand because of their error. There are some definite differences between the 2 cups.

However if you haven't considered the Sckoon in your choices you might want to consider before exchanging.

It should be their responsibility to deliver to you the cup you chose. Wouldn't that be awesome though if they let you keep the Sckoon and sent you the Lunette!?! : )

I third that. If it wasn't in your top 3 cups, and you did extensive research, it may be a risk to keep it over asking for what you ordered.

I haven't heard of this happening before - so it may have been an honest mistake.
Anyhow good luck with whatever you decide :)

Did you consider a SckoonCup? If you were considering one, maybe it's worth a try. Was there maybe something specific about SckoonCup that concerned you?

I doubt what they did was intentional. As a small to medium sized business owner myself, the last thing we want is our customers to be dissatisfied!

Welcome to the world of menstrual cups!
