Here's a side by side of the large & small fleur, large & small sckoon, small lunette and small si-bell, for anyone um-ing and ah-ing about these, and just because they look so pretty together.

Nice! I love comparison pictures!
I received my first Sckoon yesterday and was amazed at how small it looks in comparison to the small Si-bell and small Fleurcup.

SckoonCup
SckoonCup provides the same or more capacity as Fleur and Lunette but it is shorter and smaller.

Re: SckoonCup
As pretty as the Sckoons are, the stems need to be much longer--either size would get lost with my high cervix! :(

Haha I just saw this pictute on facebook, I'm not sure if it looks sharp enough on a pc? I can send through a higher res pic if you like.

Re: SckoonCup
The Fleurcup large Is my goldielocks Cup, It holds one ounce, 30ml, the Sckoon holds how much?

Re: SckoonCup
If it's smaller, how can it have the same or more capacity? Volume has to go somewhere...

It looks like a nice cup, though. Shame about the price.

Re: SckoonCup
The small sckoon doesn't hold as much as the small fleur or lunette, I just did a quick experiment by filling my small fleur to the rim, then poured it into the lunette, and then the sckoon.

The small fleur and lunette hold the same amount, but when poured into the sckoon it overflowed a little bit.

I don't know how the hole placement comes into play though, or if they perform differently once they're inside and have formed proper suction.

Re: SckoonCup
SckoonCup is small yet high capacity due to the angled suction holes located very close to the rim. Because those holes are so close to the rim it allows the cup to fill to the top without leaking.

Re: SckoonCup
So what are the capacities?

Not everyone finds that a cup leaks through the holes, by the way. For some of us, that doesn't happen, maybe because the vaginal walls seal against the holes.

Re: SckoonCup
You make a good point about the vaginal walls sealing against the holes! The size 1 is 23ml and the size 2 is 30ml.

Colorful collection! :)

I'm curious, is the Sckooncup roughly as soft as the Si-bell? And is its stem untrimmed? Because that's pretty short and it looks like I wouldn't have to trim it, which is nice.
lacrymaslave on February 12th, 2014 06:24 am (UTC)
Yeah I have to say the sckoon is my favourite out of the lot, it's probably not the absolute softest (it's softest to the touch, but not to squish, if that makes sense), but personally I find it easier to insert than the Si-bell and is the only cup I have no trouble inserting when I'm not bleeding.

I did remove one segment off the small sckoon stem, it wasn't uncomfortable but I could feel it (only very slightly) towards the end of my period, the large sckoon is brand new and untrimmed.

So, softer than the Lunette but not as soft as the Si-bell? Great, now I really want one.
lacrymaslave on February 12th, 2014 08:28 am (UTC)
I guess the reason it doesn't feel as soft is because it's a bit thicker at the top, as it doesn't have a defined rim the gradual increase in thickness happens over a longer portion of the cup.

When I get home I'll grab them and check :)
Luceafaraluceafara on February 12th, 2014 12:29 pm (UTC)
Not nearly as soft! It feels firmer than the Fleurcup.

I haven't worn mine yet (it came smelling, so it's by a sunny window at the moment), but I have never had trouble inserting the Si-bell on or off period.

I'll cut the stem off as well, if I keep it. It feels poky, and I don't need it anyway.

I just did the 'squish test' where I held two cups together and squeezed, sure enough the Sckoon doesn't get as squashed, I was a bit surprised because to me it does feel the softest to the touch. I guess it's to do with the thickness of the 'rim? It is still the only cup I can use painlessly off period without lube though, all the others threaten to pop open halfway or just don't want to slide in at all, but then again I'm still rather new at this so maybe in a few more cycles I'll have developed better technique :D
selofain: Yuukiselofain on February 12th, 2014 11:13 pm (UTC)
Are you comparing to the small or large fleurcup? Just want to make sure I know where the ScKooncup is compared to other cups. I was initially turned off the Sckooncup when early reports put it as soft as the Si-bell. I love my Si-bell, but I can't get it to fill with air reliably so I end up losing a lot of capacity. I'm going to give the Sckooncup another look now that I know it isn't as soft.
Luceafaraluceafara on February 13th, 2014 12:21 am (UTC)
I'm comparing it to the soft Fleurcup (current design).
selofain: Yuukiselofain on February 13th, 2014 12:32 am (UTC)
The small is stiffer than the large, is why I'm asking for the clarification.
Luceafaraluceafara on February 13th, 2014 12:45 am (UTC)
I know, and I miswrote by accident: I meant to say the SMALL Fleurcup, not SOFT Fleurcup.

Ah, ok. Good to know.

it's hard to tell in the pic, with a couple of cups in between them, but how close in length are the small lunette and the large sckoon? and is the lg sckoon squishier or more firm than the small lunette? trying to decide if the sckoon is going to be the next cup i try...
