New to menstrual cups.... menstrual fluid smells sour?

I started 3 months ago with Soft Cups to test them out before I bought a Mooncup this month. I never really paid attention to the smell with Soft Cups because you just throw them away. But with the Mooncup, I have started to notice that my fluids smell quite sour, almost like vinegar or something. I don't smell it except when I'm emptying the cup, and the cup doesn't retain the odor when I wash it, so that's not a concern. But I just want to make sure I'm not the only one who has sour-smelling fluids. Is this normal?
