After discontinuing cups use after years of pelvic bother, I am now doing much better with Melina cups. I have a small and a small mini, both in soft with a ball stem, and am still deciding how I like them. I think I may be better off cutting the stem off the small, though I'll wait before deciding. The mini does seem a bit more comfortable, though I had leakage issues. Possibly it's just due to having such a tiny cup and being used to not having to change mg cup often (light bleeder). Possibly it's connected to those tiny holes and the difficulty in getting both cups to open up, despite folding them over the holes and running them under the cold tap first.

I've heard that some people get a mini hole punch and put in a couple of extra holes. Which size should I get? I could buy 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm.

As I said, I'm still having this problem despite running them under cold water. I ordered a 1.5mm and a 2mm mini hole punch in the end, and used the 2mm one. Two holes have been added to each cup, so we'll see how they do!

Oh sorry, I missed the bit about running them under water!
Did you get the hole punch from Amazon?

I'd be very interested to know how your are making out with the tweaked cups.

eBay. The 1.5mm seemed to be the same size as the existing holes, so I went for the 2mm after trying them out. My period's due in a bit over a week, so we'll see then. I added two more holes to each cup.

Any chance you could post a pic?

Do you sometimes feel like the S suctions up so strongly that it becomes unpleasant to wear after a while? It happens to me, sometimes, andi think only the S bothers me because the rim diameter is so narrow. I wonder if adding two more holes would help with this.
