Hello, I've decided to get a sckoon cup as my first cup for the comfort even though it will be harder to open, but I don't know what size to get. When my cervix gets lower, it can be difficult to insert a tampon applicator (which I believe is about 7 cm long) all the way in till my fingers hit the little plastic grip (I use tampax pearl, which are a bit irritating). I'm also a virgin. I do have a very heavy flow however (changing the adult diaper pads multiple times a night), so which size do you think would be best? The large is 45 x 50 cm and the small is 40 x 40 cm. Thanks!

I had a problem and my message has not been published, see now:

I also have very heavy periods and I always used the large size, how old are you? if you are over 20/25 years I recommend the large, but if you're a teenager I think you should start with the small one.

if you're having to change pads/tampons overnight then get the large size for sure, otherwise you'll be emptying it pretty often. Ignore the age guidelines, If you search past posts you'll find loads of members who use 'large' sized cups as virgins because they need the capacity. It won't 'stretch' you out or anything if that's what you're worried about as nothing you put inside you will do.

I would suggest using lubricant on yourself to help insert it as it might be uncomfortable/hurt at first. (I would suggest this even if you got a small size though) Also using a narrow fold like the triangle, 7 or labia/punchdown.

Have a read of the virgin's Guide to Cups under the community faq tag if you haven't already found it. :)

Yeah, I'm not particularly worried about it "stretching" or whatever, but more about fit, as I've read that it can be rather uncomfortable if you get the wrong size.

this is more if you get a large stiff cup as stiff cups have a tendency to make their presence known.can cause cramps or press on the bladder. The Sckooncup is very soft so stiffness shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, okay. Thanks :) How soft is fleurcup? I'd thought I'd decided on sckoon cup, but I now that there's a sale and it's half the price and they are rather similar, I'm not sure which one to get.
