I'm really close to my sister and I've been talking to her about my Lunette which I LOVE. She sounds interested but it took me a few months to figure out if I wanted to and which one I wanted to get.

Would you ever loan your cup? I don't see it as a big deal, but I wanted to see what other cup-users thought. It gets boiled regularly and like I said, we're very close...like almost caught my baby when I gave birth.

Gross or not a big deal?

Thanks so much for all your advice; it really helped me figure out cup-using.

Honestly, I think as long as neither of you think it's too gross, I'd go for it!

Most of the cups on mcsales are pre loved and people don't care as long as it's boiled or sterilized before posted. I agree, as long as both of you are fine with it I don't think it matters.

I wouldn't personally, but if you're both okay with it, I don't see anything wrong with it. There are lots of medical devices that are put into dozens or hundreds of vaginas. As long as they're properly cleaned between each use, there's no problem in it... This is the same thing. Sort of. Maybe?

Sorry, I'm half asleep. I hope the weird logic makes sense.

What everyone else said, though I would probably just get her her own and let her decide if and when she wants to try it. I got my sis three cups, thinking she could give me back whichever ones she does not use, and she was all over them from the get-go, so I'd feel bad letting her use something, then taking it away again :)

There is something about a brandnew cup in retail packaging.....

I'd boil a brand new cup in retail packaging, too! I can't imagine how gross the facilities are where they're produced and packaged. Hands have touched it. Air and dust has touched it. Someone could have sneezed near it. (I know, I know, gross. But the point stands!)

I'd boil and then do a full hydrogen peroxide dip, just in case, like I do whenever I receive a "loved" cup off mc_sales.

But in the end, I'd probably just buy her one, too. :) If she doesn't love it, claim it as your own (especially since you know you like the style).

I agree. I always boil my cups before first use.

I'd be fine with loaning a cup to someone who was interested. Sort of a 'try before you buy' thing.

A bit different obviously, but I loaned my girlfriend my cup when she was whinging about pads (she bought her own the second her period finished, haha). I don't see a problem with sharing it with others who you don't share bodily fluids with either, just boil it. However if you're in a position to afford it, I think a shiny new cup looks a lot more appealing, so might be more likely to work!

I personally wouldn't, but if you're both fine with it, why not?

I eat with the same cutlery my housemates use, and I know that cleaning it sometimes just means a wipe with detergent and cold water! Using someone else's cup would be way too much for a lot of people, but I don't think there's any intrinsic problem if it's properly cleaned.

Having bought used cuos, I have no oroblem with it. I'd just re-sterilize it before I used it afterward.
