Hello,

I use the cup during the day but when the night is coming...uff, it´s impossible for me, the cup overflows in 3 hours or less , so I can´t sleep in one... never at the first night.
how do you do during the night? anyone like me?
I´m waiting for the femmy cycle, I hope with him to pass the whole night .

I use a Lunette size 2 and I can wear it all night. I empty it right before bed and don't have to empty again until the next morning when I take a shower. I would say I have a pretty heavy flow too--on the second day I can fill my cup in about 4 hours while I'm awake.

I tried putting your blog post through a translator... err, I think I understood most of it. Basically, flows vary greatly from one cup user to another. I happen to be one of those who don't bleed at night. I know of other people who use cloth pads as back-up to their cups. I'll link you to a video from a friend of mine with a super heavy flow talking about her favorite pads : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSPlJ3jkMYk (don't mind her silly introduction). Feel free to join us in the facebook group she links under the video, and watch more of her videos.

I'll often fill my Diva in 2-3 hours during heavy days while up and walking around. When I sleep at night I put a bit of toilet paper downstairs to avoid stains (I HATE PADS) and I'll have to wake up twice during the night to empty. STILL much better than tampons. I usually only have to do this the first night than I can go 6-8 hours.

An Instead Cup works better for me for the first few days of my period, when my flow is heavier. I put it in right before bed and take it out immediately in the morning. No leaks!

I have very heavy flow sometimes too. My most comfortable cup is a Large Meluna, but some days it overflows in less than an hour.
I bought an XL Meluna, which I get some additional time out of, but I usually wear a cloth pad as a backup for sleeping, since I might not always wake up before overflowing.

I saw this tip on another forum: after inserting the cup as high as possible, insert a sea sponge underneath the cup.

the sponge
thanks elisamba, it´s a good idea, and I have sea sponge, last month I bought for the end of the period, but I I didn´t dare to try it.
Next month I´ll try the same you are saying.
