I've been a happy L Diva cup user for about a year now (42 yo, with two kids.)  My normal day-job has me sitting at a computer all day, and I've had zero issues with cup usage, etc.  This past weekend, my period was due to begin, and it was also the first weekend of a 7-week festival I work at - which meant that I was on my feet all day, walking all day (as in, 11 hours of up and walking) and I discovered that my Diva, which normally is happily nestled in place without issue, REALLY wanted to slide down and come out to say hello.  At one point, I went to use the restroom and the entire cup (minus the rim) was sticking out.  I've not normally had an issue with muscle tone (can hold in ben-wa balls without issue), so while that might be the issue, it seems less likely...maybe the issue is just that being up and walking all day, pelvic muscles just get really relaxed?

My period didn't actually start over the weekend as expected, and I noticed that my cervix was SUPER low (far lower than I'd ever noticed before), so I finally gave up on wearing the cup and just rolled with the cloth pad I had on as backup and hoped that I'd wait to start until the weekend was over. (Which it did, whew.)

Suggestions?  Is a shorter (but still wide) cup the answer for these up-and-walking days?  Has anyone else experienced something similar based on different activity levels and cup behavior?

Thanks for any insight you can give!

Editing to add:  I'm in the US, so does this mean the Fleurcup is off the list of possibilities?  Based on comparison photos, that one seemed to be the next one I'd try.

was it the first time you wore it in advance? have you paid attention to where your cervix is before your period starts?
cervix position generally has nothing to do with your activities.

that said, i have a superlow cervix and i almost can't wear a cup just in case. haven't tried this with my small meluna mini though, maybe it would be okay. if you need a higher capacity then fleurcup is the best, yes (they ship everywhere, no worries). although if you get a meluna, i guess a mini medium is better as it's wider.

Hmm, good thinking. I *don't* normally wear my cup just in case - but as I was going to be limited on bathroom opportunities and my cycle-tracking phone app was screaming that Aunt Flo was coming TODAY, I decided it would be better to be safe than sorry. But, true - as it turned out, I was wearing it 1-2 days earlier than I ended up needing to, so perhaps that's the clue right there.

I've been wanting to purchase a spare cup to keep on hand just in case, so perhaps now is as good a time as any to give the Fleurcup a try - best case, it doesn't slide down and/or works exactly as well as the Diva has been doing. Worst case, I'm out a few bucks and have my answer. Thanks!

I've never had this issue (27, no kiddies) but if you're looking for a Fleur people are always selling them on mc_sales - I think I just saw one the other day while poking around there for no reason :)

The Diva is one of the longest brands and doesn't necessarily fit everyone (myself included.) But the good thing about a Diva is that you can flip it inside out to shorten it.

There are 30+ brands of cups nowadays, plus knock-offs. All but a few will ship to the US or anywhere. The large Fleurcup gets good reviews as a "Mommy-sized" cup. Soft, squishy, high capacity, well textured, good size, good shape, solid tab, etc.

Compare its dimensions and capacity to others at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ or any of the other charts at the Community FAQ. And also compare side by side photos to see what has the best shape of those you think will fit/suit you best.

Edited for paragraphs.

Funny enough, I did try the inside-out insertion following the surprise of the cup hanging nearly all the way out to say hello, but had trouble getting it in without it wanting to reverse itself while inside. Bizarre. I think it was at that point that I gave up, heh.

I noted to another commenter that I may give the Fleur a whirl and see how it goes. Thank you! :)

Fleur can be shipped to the States. I've had a green one for a few months now and love it. Had those same issues with the Diva that I don't have with it. I say go for it. :)

Oh, that's great news! I found a Fleur via mc_sales and hopefully it'll be in the mail to me this week. :) I'm glad to know I'm not alone in my weird-Diva experience and that the Fleur may help! Thank you!
