I've been settling nicely into my cup routine since May. At first my cervix was so high it was completely unreachable, even on my heaviest days, but this time around I started noticing that the stem of my Diva cup was actually poking out of me (it normally sits so high I have to reach for it a little). Now I can reach my cervix with my index finger maybe halfway in and it's my heaviest day. I've read about some cycles changing after cup use, and it seemed to be normal for the cervix to travel down during the cycle rather than up like mine was doing, but I was just wondering if anyone else out there has had this happen?
On the optimistic side, I'm going to watch what it does the rest of the week and maybe a glittery Meluna is in my future. =]

Yes, it's perfectly normal. If the Diva is too long for you when your cervix is dropping off passengers at the ground floor, then flip it inside out to shorten it. Then flip it back when your cervix goes back up.

I'll never think of elevators and cervices the same way. Thank you, OP. :P

You're welcome! Every once in a while the phrase "boondoggled vagina" pops in my head and makes me laugh. We're even now. ;)

Oooh, get a glitter Meluna just so I can live vicariously through you :D

I did notice my cervix getting a little lower later in my period, but I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't have the Lily (longest cup out there). It's not really enough of a difference that I feel I have to go out and hunt for another cup. The stem does poke out a bit then and I did trim one "rung" of it, but it's soft enough not to bother me really. A Meluna would still be way too short for me even at the end of my cycle, and having the stem right there makes removal sooo much easier.

It was just like Twilight Zone to have the stinker winning at hide and seek for 3 cycles in a row, and then today find the stem pretending to be a tampon string (seriously, out of my body) and be able to poke my cervix without even trying. I probably could get away with trimming it or flipping the cup...but I'm discovering some addict tendencies and really want to try other stuff just to try other stuff. My Diva and Natural Mamma, while awesome, are clear and glitter is pretty! *sigh*

I just tried flipping the Diva inside out and the thing threw a fit and jumped UPSIDE DOWN once it got in instead of popping open. One of the more terrifying parts of my day. Part of me wants to trim the stem of the Diva (rather than my loyal Natural Mamma), but I still use it to remove the cup even when it's sticking out (my pelvic floor is too tight for its own good, or at least for easy removal). The adventure side of me is all "GLITTER!" while my budget and common sense are more "figure it out with your own crap," especially since I just stocked up on all of this stuff within the past couple of months (cups and pads alike). Am I wrong in thinking that stemless removal will be harder than stemmed removal, which is already a huge battle for me?
I have 17 miles to run tomorrow in preparation for my marathon, and am starting to worry about what that stem can do nestled snugly in the middle of my pelvic floor muscles (it's taken less to cause some chafing of sensitive areas on those runs). Stupid cervix.

I run as well, and the thought of a stem poking me for 17 miles makes me cringe. I would cut it off completely. If you use nail clippers, you can buff off the edges of the cut.

I noticed that about my cervix as well. It was traveling up and down when I first joined M_C, and now it is mostly low. Apart from my ballstem Melunas, I have to cut off my stems, as they portrude, and I can't stand the poking even when I use the cups inside out.
