Hi everyone,

I have been lurking on this site for 3 months now and I finally decided to join the community yayy! I have been using the divacup stage 1 for 3 months now and I have some minor issues. I am quite heavy on my first two days but for the rest of my period it feels nonexistent. Anyway, I was wondering if it was normal to have some leakage while being physically active? My cup seems to be okay when I am going through my day regularly, but when I am working out, especially since this is day 2, it seems as though the cup isn't working for me. Any advice is appreciated

I find that I "bear down" without realizing it during exertion and exercise. Doing so might make your Diva too long for you while you're exercising. Try flipping it inside out to shorten it before you exercise and then back right-side out afterward.

I've not leaked while exercising, except once, and that could have been residual slobber.

Usually I'll take it out and put it back in after exercising, but I haven't even done that he last couple of cycles.

when you took it out did you use tampons

I'm sorry! I wasn't clear. I meant I take it out before i exercise, rinse, reinsert, and then when I am done exercising, take it out, rinse, reinsert, just in case anything got messed up with how the cup was held inside of me. But I haven't even done that for a while because I haven't had any issues.

I use Fleurcup, if you were wondering!

There are cups I can't wear while exercising without some leakage. My small soft Meluna, for instance, leaks when I go running, while the classic Meluna and the Fleurcup do not. So, another cup may be your answer - it was for me.

so basically a stiffer cup would be better?

I don't want to give you wrong advice, especially since I am relatively new to cups, but in my case, the stiffer cups helped, and this seems to be the case with a few other cuppers here as well.

The Meluna website also seems to point physically active users to the stiffer cups.

What kind of exercise do you do, if I may ask? Some activities make the pelvic muscles contract more than others, like horseback riding, for instance, in which case Meluna even recommed the sport cups.

I'm a zumba instructor and i also do insanity
