Try different folds and different positions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt6L-POE-b0 (mostly lying on your back or sitting on the toilet knees splayed). Use a dab of water-based lube on yourself and on the rim to ease it in. And remember to bear down, as if you were just about to pee but not quite, it's how to actively relax down there. My favorite position to insert as a newbie was lying on my back (in the privacy of my bedroom), knees splayed, feet flat on the bed, and to tilt my pelvis up/forward a bit. That creates "a gap" in there. And if you are doing a dry run, you mkight want to wait for your period to try again. Good luck ! :)

If your hymen isn't in the way, you're probably clenching your PC muscles. To isolate them, next time you go pee, start and stop your stream a few times. Then insert your finger and give it a little squeeze. Now that you know how to contract them on command, practice RELAXING them on command. You'll need to do that for insertion and especially removal. Open your mouth a little and keep your jaw slack -- and don't forget to breathe! :o)

Wait until you're menstruating, try it squatting in the shower or lying on your back in the bath. It took me a long time of trial and error. Keep pads/tampons handy and just try it, don't put pressure on yourself to get it done this cycle or that cycle just keep trying and it should help :)

Explore your own body with your fingers, too, it helps. Especially in the shower.
