Decisions, decisions!
A couple months ago I was trying to figure out a larger capacity cup to buy. I currently have a new-style medium Meluna classic, and it was great for the first 8-10 months. But my doctor has me on iron supplements now, and my periods are undeniably heavier. I've been putting off buying a new cup, since they're kind of pricey, but it's become obvious that I just have to suck it up and get a new one.
I have a low cervix, so I've been having a lot of trouble finding a short cup that has a higher capacity than my Meluna. I've narrowed it down to a large Fleurcup and a Ruby cup, I think. I had also considered a large Juju. Much as I want to buy Australian made where I can, I just can't afford $60 for a single cup. I can get TWO Fleurcups for less than the price of a single Juju, so unfortunately I've had to rule that one out.
Fleurcup pros - larger capacity. Cheaper. Pretty colours.
Fleurcup cons - longer.
Ruby cup pros - Shorter. Donates one cup to a girl in Kenya. I approve of this kind of thing.
Ruby cup cons - Smaller capacity. No pretty colours. More expensive (but the abovementioned donation cancels this out for me, really)
I really don't know which to choose. The larger capacity should be a winner, but I'm a bit concerned about the extra length. I also really want to go with the Rubycup because I like that they donate a cup. I think I'm definitely leaning in the Ruby cup's direction, but I just want someone to make up my mind for me! Or offer an opinion, at least! :)
ETA: I ended up buying a Fleur because it was the cheaper of the two, but I will most likely end up buying a Ruby as well because I really can't decide between them.
