Hello! I am going on a trip where the bathroom situation is sooo not private. The toilet is just in the open and we aren't supposed to lock the door- just supposed to get over our pee-shyness :(. ANYHOOO, I plan on wearing my divacup the entire trip partially because I am paranoid about my inconsistent period and partially because I have a lot of discharge that the cup helps with. I was planning on just changing it in the shower every morning and evening with a water bottle to rinse it with, but if anybody has some good advice, I'd be happy to hear it!

Haha yeah it is a cabin but in the mornings it is a pain to wait in line for the bathroom as we need to leave quickly and there is like 25 of us. We are all pretty close so it usually isn't a problem.

As for changing during the day, I don't THINK that I will have to, as my period is a bit light, though it has been getting heavier lately sooo.... during the day we are sort of in the middle of the woods with no bathroom access and have to go outside. What exactly is the 'protocol' for disposal in the woods?

Also, you mentioned using wipes to clean the cup, but I thought that was an issue with causing infection or something? If not, what brands would be best- preferably ones I can get at a local grocery?

I imagine the same as what you would do for a poo? (make a small hole, empty the cup into it and cover?) if you look at past posts with the camping/backpacking tag there are tips on how to deal with it outside/protocol.loads easier than having to carry round used pads or tampons!

I wouldn't use baby/feminine wipes as they could cause a yeast infection but Wysi Wipes are small cloths that unfold with water, or Lunette Wipes that are good for cleaning/sterilising the cup when you don't have a bottle of water to rinse it.

Ah I see! Sounds like fun despite that, reminds me of piano camp up in the woods :) Would it also be possible to sneak out into the woods sometimes to empty out the cup, if the bugs wouldn't eat you alive and you wouldn't be visible? That way, if you're not also using the restroom, you wouldn't be holding up the line. Luckily my camp had multiple cabins of 10 girls each and one summer we were age grouped with a girl who had busted her leg, so we got the handicapped cabin with the awesome handicapped shower and stall--if your camp has one of those, make friends with someone who's bunking in there!
