Ok so I have been have trouble with my cup "popping open". Which lead me to wonder if maybe I am taking the term popping open to literally.
When you insert your cup should it open completely as big as it is when its outside of your body or just big enough to accommodate for your body size?

I think maybe...the cup might be opening but that my vagina is to "tight" for it open completely. Is this a possibility? Am I taking the term 'open' to an extrem? Or should open just mean open?

It should be unfolded from its previously folded position and the rim should be round, or oval, or your pubic bone might cause a slight dent, or your finger when you check. That is ALL fine. The way to do that is to allow room/air around the cup, so you might hear a whooshing sound as it fills with air. Melunas especially have a tendency to assume an oval shape, so if that's the shape of your insides... don't worry about it.
